Honoring Family, Tradition, and Flavor

There’s something truly special about projects rooted in family, culture, and tradition—especially when they revolve around food. As artists, we feel incredibly honored when our work helps bring those stories to life. That was exactly the case with our recent mural for Zacatecas Cafe, a beloved family-owned restaurant that has been serving authentic Mexican cuisine since 1963.

For over 60 years, Zacatecas Cafe has been more than just a restaurant—it’s been a cornerstone of the community. It’s where generations have gathered for everyday meals and life’s most meaningful moments. From city events and political celebrations to family milestones like birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries, the restaurant has served as a backdrop for countless memories. It’s a space filled with love, flavor, and deep community roots.

This mural was created to honor that legacy—the story of where the family came from, the values passed down, and the love that continues to live on through every dish. At the heart of it is a tribute to John’s mother and Vickey’s mother-in-law. Their passion for cooking brought people together, and their spirit continues to shine through every plate served and every gathering held within those walls.

To be trusted with helping tell that story visually was a true honor for our team. We poured our own hearts into this piece to reflect the warmth and history that Zacatecas represents.

Thank you to the entire Zacatecas family for allowing us to be part of something so meaningful. This mural stands not just as a work of art, but as a celebration of a legacy built on food, family, and a community that has always come together around both.

We are beyond honored to have brought this vision to life, with the incredible support of: Clarissa Cervantes, Unidos, Athensservices, Alturacu

Thank you for trusting us with your story: Zacatecas Cafe
